"The Plan" Reflection paper- March 28, 2010

The Plan

On Friday, January 12, 2010, David Hasz gave a message entitled “The Plan.” This message was known to have convicted many people in the past and changed many hearts. It also changed my heart and I really enjoyed it. It drastically shifted my perspective on the world and God's heart regarding the nations that inhabit this planet. In this paper, I will explain The Plan; It is one that is worth time and reflection. One thing David Hasz said was that we look at the Bible like a yearbook and search for ourself; we search for our picture in the pages. That is not how the Bible is written and that is not it's focus. What we need to do is look at it as it is. To do that, we start at the beginning. First is the Creation, the Fall, Cain and Able, the Flood and the Tower of Babel. The middle is the story of Abraham. God promised to give Abraham the nations, making them all his children to share in his inheritance. This promise is extendable to every nation! The problem we see a lot, especially in modern Christianity, is that we think the Bible is about us; that's what we are trained in America. It is so un-biblical to think that way; in Ephesians 1:9-12 it says, in summary, that God's plan was to center everything around Christ so that we can glorify God. Personally, I recognize the truth behind our selfish perspective and think that it is really convicting. Another thing David Hasz said on the subject that made me think was that worship is not for us, but for God; to glorify His name! How pure and pleasing our worship is to God when we do it for Him and not us! The third part of the Bible, is obviously Revelations and Christ's return! Which will only come when all the world knows Christ! Mr. Hasz said, “God had one son and made Him a missionary... The great commission isn't the great suggestion.” That should get our feet to moving. “First, go to where we live, then spread out from there. (Acts 1;8)” He also said, and this is the main thing I got from this message, that “the big deal is not that God is involved in our story but we are involved in his!” We need everyone to acknowledge God's heart and plan for reaching every tribe, tongue and nation. Then Christ will return! Hallelujah!
